HIBAKUSHA was formed in late 1996. We just thought, hey let’s change history of the Czech hard corepunk. We simply started practising and that was it. After few rehearsal sessions we recorded our first demo tape. Our first line up was: Havel on guitar, Makovec on bass and Marzena on drums. In the next two years we play shows over the Czech Republic and in spring of 1998 we recorded new material which was used for several compilations all over the world. In 1999 we have change our line up because Makovec had moved to south bohemia and we recruited our good friend called Dino. In this period we went through a few short tours with band like DISFIGURED CORPSE, MALIGNANT TUMOUR, G.O.R.E, LD50 (NL) etc.

In 2001 we celebrated five years of existence at our favourite Futra club in Orlova. Our next studio sessions were released as MC/CDr on Impregnate Records and split 7inch with our mates from DEPRESY MOUSE. We continued with our shows over the Czech, Slovak Republic, Poland and Germany. From 2003 we were writing tracks for new album which was recorded in Poland at JP Studio and released on CD (2005) and LP (2006). In 2007 we released split 7inch with KONFIDENT and in 2008 split 7inch with VETO. Both bands are our good friends and splits were launched in the Futra club. As usual! We went on tours with VETO, DEPRESY MOUSE, H.G.W. (PL), MEINHOF (UK). We enjoyed the tours and have really good memories from all these trips ☺

In spring 2009 we recorded fresh material at Shaark studio which was released on CD/LP in cooperation with DIY labels. From September 2009 we didn’t play because our drummer Marzena moved to Wales and stayed there till September 2011. During this time Havel joined death metal band called BLOODY OBSESSION and Dino joined legendary death grind core band called DOBYTCI MOR and Marzena started drumming for the UK grind core band ATOMCK.

Before Marzena moved back to Czech, Dino left the band, playing only with DOBYTCI MOR. In September 2011 we asked our mates Dan and Blanka to try to play with us. After few practises we knew that this was the best choice.

In winter 2012 HIBAKUSHA went to recording studio Shaark to record songs for upcoming LP “Pandora” that will be released in the summer of 2013.

Band name HIBAKUSHA means: Hibakushas are victims of nuclear tradegy in Hirosima and Nagasaki.
