"I've taken some time to evaluate Obscene Extreme 2023 a little bit and even though I've been waiting for a week, I'm still at a loss for words... The quality of our joint festival should be evaluated mainly by you... I can only describe everything from my point of view and I have to repeat myself... OEF 2023 was amazing in my opinion!!! The commitment of all the bands was incredible... Everyone prepared their best and gave their best and that's what counts. I think at OEF we feel our festival is not a standard festival that you can go to every week, but something really special that is repeated only once a year in Trutnov at Battlefield and I am really happy about that... Of course it's been a long journey from a small festival on a trailer, but the respect we have in the world today is something that is unparalleled... After all, even the famous CARCASS prepared a special set without us asking or pushing them!!! Isn't it a blast???

Thanks to all the OEF crew members, because they really sweat and try to keep the festival together and everything running like clockwork... Where else do you have 10 minutes to change bands, with 24 bands playing on one stage in one day? Yes, only at OEF and it's an incredible symphony when you watch these guys at work... But it's not just about the stage crew, there are over 130 people looking after you at OEF and each and every one of them is an extremely important part of it. We thank you for being polite and understanding when a little something goes wrong. Without your tolerance, we couldn't do it!!!

And the fans... Ufff... I have no words... OEF is not just a fest in a multitude of other festivals, and it's because of you!!! I could talk about Obscene Extreme fans for hours... you guys are awesome!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I would like to personally thank you for all the gifts, presents, handshakes, and wishes of continued good health. There have been hundreds of such meetings and it's always enjoyable! Thank you!!!

Next year's OEF date is set exactly for my 50th birthday (and we will celebrate our 25th anniversary as a festival!!!), so you can be sure that we have been working for months to make the upcoming festival just a little bit better again and your memories to be so profound that you will be telling them to your grandchildren!!!

Do your best to come and support us, because realistically as I see it today, OEF won't be around forever... The costs are just eating us up to the point that I'm losing interest in doing a festival that costs so much money, as quite a few of you also have reminded me of, and that's not a pleasant thing for me. We've always been very cost sensitive about ticket prices. However, look at the history of what the prices were at OEF in the past...

Let's understand each other a little bit. I myself would like to do OEF in the highest possible quality (venue, sound, stage, LED display etc.) without sponsors, municipality support etc. and for affordable money, but we have to have something to pay for the whole organisation and believe me, it is not easy nowadays. Our great crew, flights, accommodation, bands and things around the venue just cost big money nowadays. Even so, we try to do it fairly and still offer services for free (like showers, phone charging, etc) that you would pay for somewhere else. We help bands sell their merch at our expense and take no percentage of the sales, etc... We do what we can and what feels right to us…

For now, it is clear that next year OEF will take place, so let's all make the most of it!!!
