THE LAST GROTESQUE, OBSCENE AND EXTREME GORE DANCE!!! Yes, they are back!!! Our old friends ROMPEPROP after a few years decided to make their fans happy and for the occasion of the annual Obscene Extreme Festival they are getting together for one special show!!! We don't need to tell everyone who goes to OEF that ROMPEPROP shows are always an event that will make the ultimate moshpit dance and set the complete obscene masquerade show in fire!!! And there's no need to think that this time will be any different. The goregrind of this Dutch trio is exactly what you want to hear.
Skittering, danceable passages combined with punchy blastbeats, a downtuned wall of boostered guitar and bass sound, and vomiting gurgle vocals. It's very likely that this will be ROMPEPROP's very last show ever, so feel free to join the moshpit of sweat and blood!!! Madness is called ROMPEPROP!!!
Bio
Starting as a threesome, Jores du True (drums), Dirty Dr. Dente (guitar) and Steven Smegma (gargling) wanted to create the kinda music they love the most; party groovin’ goregrind with sick downtuned vomit vocals. Inspired by Utopie, Gut, Impetigo, Haemorrhage and N.C.C. they had their first try out in 1999, but it really started off after they found bassplayer Micheil the Menstrual Mummy at the Fuck The Commerce Fest 2001. Rompeprops first gig was a fact in September of that same year at the famous Dynamo club, Eindhoven. After that show they were able to sign a small recorddeal with Dismemberment Records. The release of MCD Menstrual Stomphulk (February 2002) was surprisingly successful!
One year later (March 2003) they released their first full-length on Bizarre Leprous (CZ.). This album, Hellcocks Pornflakes, caused their official break through. Vocalist Steven Smegma couldn’t combine his job any longer with the band and after having more and more health problems, he unfortunately had to quit the band. But not after doing the studio recordings of their third CD, a split with Tu Carne, Just A Matter of Splatter. The other three had to hit the rehearsal room again to take over the vocals, ‘cause they needed to get ready for hitting the stage as much as possible in 2004 and beyond! This worked out great! They played at many fests and clubs and countries like USA, CANADA, BRAZIL, MEXICO, RUSSIA, SPAIN, PORTUGAL and many more!
In 2007 Micheil the Mummy had to quit the band because he had to move to Switzerland, his place was taking by Bonebag Rob!! Rompeprop was more than complete again! Rompeprop just stands for fun and joy in a Gory way.
In 2016 Rompeprop decided to put the Gore&Blood aside and did one farewell show at the Grindhoven Festival.
To support their best friend Niek from Café the Jack during COVID in 2020 they recorded one song called “Pino”. All benefits went straight to Niek to help him keep our favourite hangout alive.
Last edition of Grindhoven Rompeprop played a cover set with their longtime friend Peter Brinkman as George Baker Dissection and did a few Rompeprop songs at the end to surprise the audience.
Now they’re back for one more time, the only time to do a full set at the Obscene Extreme Festival 2024!!!
