VIKING GRINDCORE PANDEMONIUM!!! After seven years, well-known Swedish grindcore bunch THE ARSON PROJECT return to the Obscene Extreme festival stage!!! Grindcore that doesn't shy away from leaning on styles like hardcore, punk or sludge, but with the energy of an atomic bomb!!! From their first tour and performance outside of Scandinavia in 2007 at OEF without releasing anything, through several comebacks in 2010 and 2017, THE ARSON PROJECT comes to celebrate the 25th anniversary of OEF with us for the fourth time!!!
It's been very rare to see THE ARSON PROJECT play live since the covid pandemic, so this show is sure to be special!!! With the new album "God Bless" it is clear that nothing has changed in THE ARSON PROJECT camp. It's still harsh, pissed off misanthropic grindcore that invokes peace in the world, but war on the stage!!!
Bio
Formed in Sweden 2005 with a still ongoing DIY-attitue and a kind of below the radar presence, THE ARSON PROJECT has yet slowly made a name in the underground punk/metal scene while having done hundreds of shows touring almost every country in Europe & parts of Southeast Asia . Originally spawned out the void suddenly and tragically left by the legendary NASUM, their soon 20-year existence has strongly evolved from a small piece of the modern wave of new Swedish grindcore among wellknown bands like AFGRUND, SPLITTER, INFANTICIDE and GADGET to have reached a unique sound and a way of creating their own style of audio violence without being any regular copycats. Lyrical themes are mostly based out of the political and negative aspects of life and obviously also includes severe criticism of todays society - no matter if it's regarding mental health, antifascism, social injustice or animal rights. Musically the band creatively and relentlessly mixes raging blastbeats with rawpunk dbeat and doomy sludge.
