So underground they've never seen the sun, Texas death
metallers PROPHECY first formed in 1991 but have been worshipping at the altar
of brutal death metal since 1995.
Coming of age in 1998 with the groove-heavy, riff-laden
juggernaut of "Foretold...Foreseen" obliterating stereos, as well as
tours with DYING FETUS and DEEDS OF FLESH, PROPHECY never compromising on their
values – releasing their own albums and running the TXDM fest for five years in
a row.
Pay your respects OBSCENE EXTREME, because PROPHECY are why
you don't mess with Texas.
Bio
PROPHECY began in 1991 in Shreveport, LA (U.S.). James Parks
II (guitars/vocals/drums) met a couple of other musicians and started jamming
together, then decided to form a band. James chose PROPHECY as the name. A logo
concept was decided by James and Mike Wilson then drawn by Mike who was also
the other guitarist of PROPHECY for the following 3 years. After playing in the
Shreveport/Bossier City, LAarea for over 3 years, the 4 members decided to part
ways. About 6 months passed before James met Joe "Boogie" Dunlap
(guitarist). They decided to move to the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area and soon
Phil Holland joined on vocals, PROPHECY became BRUTAL DEATH METAL in 1995.
PROPHECY began writing new material for their debut 5-song EP "It Shall
Come to Pass", (released by Prophecy Records on cassette in March 1996).
In March of 1997 a 2-song promo was released by Prophecy Records on cassette
for promotion of their debut full-length CD,
"Foretold...Foreseen"(released by Prophecy Records 10-28-98 then
released by Prophecy Records 2013). James Parks II officially endorsed by
Jackson Guitars 2000-2003. "It Shall Come To Pass" (now full-length)
was re-released on Prophecy Records 9-3-01. PROPHECY’s 2nd full-length c.d.
"Our Domain", was released on Shindy Productions (Czech Republic) and
Forever Underground Rec. (U.S.) 7-7-02. And 2003 seen the 8th release, a 2nd
European 7" split. And the 3rd official studio full-length, "Don't
Fuckin' Mess With Texas" was digitally released 10-28-11 by Prophecy
