Ale jak se říká „už je čas pane profesore“, a tak představujeme další Brazilskou brusku na prknech Obscene Extreme. RABUJOS, v překladu otroci, hrají přesně tu extremní odnož muziky, kterou od latinsko amerických kapel očekáváme. Intenzivní a zuřivý nářez, plný zvratů s plynem sešlápnutým až na podlahu!!!
RABUJOS ušli poměrně velký kus cesty od svého crust punkového začátku až k dnešnímu extrému mixujícího prvky grindcore, crustu, hardcore metalu občas až s noisovými vsuvkami a rozhodně jejich cesta nebyla jednoduchá, ale jsou stále tady a mají co říct!!! Dámy a pánové, toto jsou RABUJOS, Brazilská zuřivost!!!
Bio
Rabujos make extreme music for extreme times. Veterans of the Brazilian grindcore and hardcore punk scenes, the band is recognized by audiences and critics alike for its aggression, lyricism, and the intensity of its live performances. Formed in 1994 in Recife, Pernambuco, Rabujos became notorious early in its career for promoting critical thinking and far-left politics, as well as for its uncompromising fusion of extreme music and poetry.
Rabujos released the now cult-classic crust punk EP Contra Tudo e Contra Todos in 2004, as well as several splits and compilations, before releasing its debut full-length album, Quatro Mil Corpos, in 2015. The album works as an anthology of true-crime stories, with each song chronicling real cases witnessed firsthand by the band's singer, who was then working as a crime reporter for a local newspaper. The songs showcase a unique mix of fast and groovy blast beats, noisy guitars, and violent lyrics that became the band’s sonic signature. Quatro Mil Corpos was recently reissued in the US by Mold Dominion, the label run by Pig Destroyer’s JR Hayes.
In 2017, Rabujos released its second album, Desconforto. The title, taken from an interview with Napalm Death’s Barney Greenway, in which he says that “grindcore is about discomfort,” laid the groundwork for the album’s theme. All the songs explore different expressions of discomfort, whether personal, social, or political. The album’s production was also marked by deep discomfort: the majority of the music and lyrics were improvised live in the studio during recording. The result is a mix of fast and brutal grindcore with experimental noise and hardcore.
Right before the global pandemic, in 2019, Rabujos released a highly acclaimed split album with fellow deathgrinders Aphorism. The tracks on this release follow Rabujos’s approach to extreme music: fast, groovy, and noisy. The songs portray Brazilian society under the necropolitics of Jair Bolsonaro and were included in Mold Dominion’s reissue of Quatro Mil Corpos.
More recently, Rabujos were invited to perform an experimental, improvised noise set for a silent film festival. The live performance was recorded and will be released in 2027 under the title Ocidente. Rabujos are currently recording their third full-length album, scheduled for release in time for OEF 2027. The first four tracks will be released one per month through December 2026 as a preview of the new album.
