Bio

YACØPSÆ from Hamburg, Germany, was founded in August 1990 and, after a few lineup changes, consists in 2026 of Stoffel (guitar/vocals), Erinç (bass), and Thore (drums). The group was heavily influenced by bands such as VORKRIEGSPHASE, STOSSTRUPP, early BOSKOPS, CHAOS-Z, LÄRM, early S.O.B., INFEST, ELECTRO HIPPIES, SATANIC MALFUNCTIONS, ATAQUE FRONTAL, early ACTIVE MINDS, early HERESY, RAPT, ATAVISTIC, NEOS, FEAR ITSELF, SEPTIC DEATH and countless others. Although repeatedly and incorrectly labeled as “grindcore,” the band rejects this designation and instead places itself somewhere between the two subgenres “fastcore” and “power violence”; in interviews, they’ve also stated that, at the end of the day, it’s simply “fast punk rock with personal and political lyrics.” When the band was founded, they had no idea they’d still be active 36 years later, and as a result, they’ve traveled extensively around the world: Armenia, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, England, Finland, France, Georgia, the Netherlands, Ireland, Italy, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Northern Ireland, Austria, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Hungary, and the U.S. Along the way, the band had the opportunity to share the stage with many well-known bands from all kinds of subcultural genres. A ten-concert tour in Japan is currently planned for April 2027. As for releases, the discography includes well over 100 recordings. The new 12“ LP album ‘Paroxyst’ will be released in late October 2026, followed in the spring of 2027 by a split 12” LP/CD with AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED. Gooooooo!!
