Bio
No Rest is a Southern Brazilian crust punk metal band formed in 1989 in the city of Porto Alegre. Since their inception, the band has maintained a fiercely independent, D.I.Y. approach to navigating the worldwide underground scene, establishing themselves as one of the most significant bands in Brazil. Long before the internet, they were already booking their own tours and invading alternative radio waves to carve out their space in the underground.
The band remains highly active today and is currently recording their new album to be released in early 2027.
No Rest released their debut full-length album, Sick Society, in 1998. With the new record, they embarked on a massive four-month tour spanning twelve Brazilian states. By 2000, No Rest took their music international with their first European tour. They spent five months on the road, hitting Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. While overseas, they stopped in Germany to record their Contraditória Condição EP, which was released on vinyl.
Traveling abroad proved to be a major breakthrough, sparking a lifetime of international touring. No Rest returned to Europe in 2001, 2004, 2006, and 2012. Expanding far beyond their initial routes, they went through Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Romania, Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Austria, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, and Ireland. In 2004, they also toured Latin America, playing festivals and underground gigs across both major hubs and remote cities in Uruguay, Chile, Peru, and Bolivia.
Decades of relentless global touring have landed No Rest on international compilations. Over the years, they have shared stages with legendary underground acts such as Warcollapse, Wolfbrigade, Agnostic Front, Ratos de Porão, Detestation, Police Bastards, Ruination, Warmachine, Hellshock, Test, Kuolema, Força Macabra, Fleas and Lice, Post Regiment and others.
No Rest remains widely celebrated for their intense live performances, crushing sound, and razor-sharp lyrics.
