One of the first band that occupies the line up of Obscene Extreme 2023 is the well known MASTIC SCUM!!! A band that already played at the first legendary OEF in 1999 and still hold the banner of extreme metal at our Austrian neighbours. MASTIC SCUM have come a long way since their beginnings and their music, although based on true grindcore, absorbs modern influences of hardcore and perhaps even metalcore, but their wall of sound sounds like a huge steamroller, uncompromisingly rolling over pile of scrap!!!
MASTIC SCUM just released a new album "Icon" with a modern sound that will rip your head off!!! Is grindcore going in a new direction? The quartet MASTIC SCUM will answer us!!! At OEF 2023!!!
Bio
MASTIC SCUM belongs definitely to the most famous and emerging acts of the metal-scene from Austria! Since middle of the 90s the band is raging in the international metal scene and works on brute and technical high-quality-death-anthems, which could never sound more crushing. Remarkable guitar-riffs with machine-like drums and massive grooves define the soundwall of MASTIC SCUM. Till now the band has been on stage across Europe as well as the United States & Asia and is known for its furious live-performance. The group released 6 studio albums, 1 DVD, several split-releases on vinyl & tape and was nominated for the Austrian Music Award in category Hard N’ Heavy. MASTIC SCUM released their 6th studio album “ICON” on 7th October 2022 via MDD Records!
