Info
The Melbourne grind syndicate!!! The next band we're going to introduce is the Australian grindcore outfit HEMATEMESIS!!! They're not yet very well known in Europe, but watch out, the line-up features the long-serving extreme metal women Mel, whom you may recognise from bands such as Last Days of Humanity or 5 Stabbed 4 Corpses. HEMATEMESIS formed in Montreal, Canada, in 2021, but shortly afterwards they relocated to the land down under, known for its kangaroos, koalas and grindcore, where HEMATEMESIS took on their final form.
It probably goes without saying that this trio plays absolutely sensational, raw grindcore, full of blastbeats!!! Their 2025 split with Goreossion is a prime example of this. Vomiting blood live on air!!! This is how HEMATEMESIS will make their debut at Obscene Extreme!!! BLEAURGH!!!
Bio
The land down under is known for kangaroos, koalas and grind, with the Melbourne Grind Syndicate making damn sure the latter stays fast, raw and unapologetic.
Throw in three individuals from three different countries and you get HEMATEMESIS. Formed in Montreal in 2021 by Mel (bass) and Mike (guitar/vocals), the band relocated to Melbourne in 2022, after finally finding a Kiwi fast enough for the drum stool, Dan joined in 2024. With members from 5 Stabbed 4 Corpses/ Christ Crusher (Germany/Australia), Holy Cost (Canada) and Odiusembowel (New Zealand), the result is a unique taste of nasty Aussie grind.
In 2025, HEMATEMESIS released a split CD with Goreossion through Fat Ass Records and a 5" picture disc lathe cut vinyl Live in Darwin through Shit Resist Records (SGP). A new 7” split with Tasmania’s DB CALL is ready to hit the press through Grindhead Records, while the next batch of songs is already lined up for recording.
Fast drums, filthy riffs and guttural retching – HEMATEMESIS finally hit OEF in 2027.
