Formed in Gävle, Sweden during the winter of 1999/2000 by William and Rikard. Recorded a demo and Emil joined in shortly after on vocals, and Fredrik later on bass. Perhaps not your ordinary grindcore band, GADGET has always blended styles and incorporates hardcore, death metal, doom, sludge and punk. Appeared on a few grind compilations and released the EXHUMED split EP before signing to Relapse Records in 2003. Debut album REMOTE came out in 2004, followed by THE FUNERAL MARCH in 2006. Toured Scandinavia, Europe and USA several times with bands such as Napalm Death, Cloud Rat, Primitive Man, Vermin Womb, Implore, Crowpath, Uprise, to name a few. Last album, THE GREAT DESTROYER was released in 2016 on Relapse Records and was followed up last year with the RETALIATION split EP, the later one with several guest vocalist as Emil retired in 2019. The band later came out on the other end of the pandemic with a new lineup. Now with Emilia (Radium Grrrls) on live vocals and Kristofer (Livet som Insats, Infanticide, Axis of Despair) on 2nd live guitar, when available.
