Organised grindcore chaos!!! Bands of our antipodes just do things differently. We can’t recall anything coming out of those parts of the globe other than the hardest, most intense, brutal grindcore at light-speed. It’s no different with FORCED STARVATION, a band formed in 2022 and comprising members from the likes as Meth Drinker or Piggery. We’re dealing with an absolute grindcore massacre here!!! Grindcore and nothing else, and although the lads can slow things down a bit, you won’t get to enjoy many of these passages in their music.
Following the release of their self-titled debut, we simply had no choice but to invite them to Obscene Extreme 2027. This New Zealand-style organised chaos is sure to be one of the festival’s dark horse!!! So mind that, when these lads grind you to dust!!!
Bio
Forced Starvation are a four-piece grindcore band from Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington, Aotearoa/New Zealand forging an old-school, crust-leaning take on 1990s grind. Formed in 2022, the band grew out of guitarist Sam Thurston (Meth Drinker) and drummer Dan Fraser’s (Bonecruncher) shared obsession with the raw intensity of acts like Assück, Phobia, Heresy, Insect Warfare, and Brutal Truth. Adding Bosun Henderson (Stress Ghetto) on vocals and Vanya Vitali (Unruly) on bass, the band’s music channels that lineage into short, violent bursts of sound, while lyrically exploring the brutality of human behaviour and its destructive impact on people and the environment. Pure Grind from the arse-end of the world!
