DUMMY TOYS - War is Nightmare

Info

PUNK GIRLS ON MAXIMUM VOLUME!!! It's not exactly common to have a band from China at a festival, but Obscene Extreme has managed to do it for the second time. After Cave Have Rod in 2013 we're bringing a quartet of girls called DUMMY TOYS to the Battlefield, and they play some damn sharp punk!!! DUMMY TOYS were formed in 2015 and from the beginning have been playing very sharp punk with a thunderous metal sound and the energy of angry girls living in a system where punks definitely don't have it easy.

DUMMY TOYS' music sounds like a great mix of US street punk, crust, and hardcore, not unlike The Casualties or Call the Cop, but also inspired by Japanese riot grrrl bands, played here with tremendous drive and aggression!!! DUMMY TOYS are preparing a new album, which we are eagerly awaiting, because their latest album, "War is Nightmare" from 2023, is simply great. And the girls will bring us a new tunes at Obscene Extreme 2026!!! And we can't wait. Mohawks up, DUMMY TOYS are here!!!

Bio

Fast and furious all-female hardcore-punk band from Qingdao/CHINA

Formed in 2015 amidst the dusty chaos of Northeastern China, Dummy Toys emerged playing furious, fast, and violent raw punk without apology. There is nothing soft or polished here. No smiles, no sugarcoating. Their live shows are untamed, unpredictable, and louder than anything you’re ready for.

Dummy Toys sound is rooted in what they grew up listening to and what still hits hard in their speakers today. It is a raw mix of street punk, hardcore, and crust, shaped by bands like Cheap Sex, Monster Squad, Tragedy, Crude SS, D.R.I., Beton and Call the Cops. But it is not just about sound. The attitude comes from the same place: urgency, defiance, and a refusal to stay quiet.

They quickly gained notoriety in their coastal hometown of Qingdao, becoming a staple act at the city’s notorious punk bar DMC. With the release of their debut album Not A Puppet in 2020, Dummy Toys stormed onto the national stage. Their 2023 sophomore record War Is Nightmare took their sound to new extremes, becoming darker, thrashier, and heavier. This earned them spots on major festival lineups and brought them across China and Europe, including a standout performance at the Rebellion Festival in the UK.

2025 has been a whirlwind of busyness for Dummy Toys. Still, the band took time during summer and autumn to slow down, reflect, and shape their next record. The official recording phase begins in December and January, with eight new tracks lined up. Stylistically, the upcoming release continues the fierce and ominous vibe of War Is Nightmare, while also exploring new musical territory. Lyrically, it dives into urgent social topics the band is eager to confront, including animal protection, the shackles of human nature, and child abduction. These themes fuel the band’s creative core and deepen the raw urgency of their sound.

With their 3rd full-length scheduled for spring 2026, Dummy Toys are ready to take their message and their noise back to the stage. Their summer tour will bring them to venues, festivals, and DIY spaces across Europe. Mohawks up. Volume maxed. Dummy Toys are coming for you, summer 2026.
