DECREPID – THE STENCH OF OLD SCHOOL FROM THE KINGDOM OF ENGLAND!!! They had to smell the black darkness to get to the bottom of true death! When their tones began to crumble into dust, there was no turning back. Music steeped in old, dusty death metal completely captivated them, and they are coming to spread their message at Obscene!
Since 2005, they have released four albums and their progress is evident from miles away. The walls of the British capital are already too tight for them and there is a smell in the air... no, it's not badly buried corpses. It's the gravediggers themselves, DECREPID!!!
Bio
Known for their electrifying live assaults, Decrepid stands as a testament to the raw power of onstage death metal mastery. Having successfully concluded their memorable tour with Krisiun and Nile, the band is not just resting on the laurels of their acclaimed EP “Devoted to Death”, they’re actively preparing to unleash a brand new EP and a full-length album, ensuring that both fans and first-time listeners are in for a relentless auditory experience.
Reborn in the miserable winter of 2008, what stared as a thrash band now has the violent, hatred of old school death metal! Aggressive, energetic and passionately devoted to morbid, well-written death metal.
Since that time, they have slowly but surely carved out a name for themselves as one of the strongest death metal bands in the UK - metal hammer
Making their official debut in 2011 with the ‘Devoted to Death’ album (released on LP by UK label Full Tilt World and CD by HereticDeath Call Produc- tion from Chile), the band quickly won an under- ground following, appealing to fans of such vital acts like Dismember, Bolt Thrower and Suffocation.
In late 2012 the band recorded a three-track demo entitled ‘Mausoleum of the forgotten’, officially re- leased the following year. This short but ferocious statement of intent caught the attention of indus- try legend and death metal aficionado Dave Rot-ten of Avulsed, who promptly signed the band to his iconic label, Xtreem Music. The first product of this union was the band’s devastating second album ‘Osseous Empire’, released halfway through 2015, an opus created with the help of respected producer Greg Chandler (Esoteric), famed for his production work for bands such as Cruciamentum, Macabre omen and Indesinence.
The powerful but unpolished production served the group well and ‘Osseous Empire’ would boost the group’s reputation considerably, winning glowing reviews in numerous publications and online sites, with metaltemple even going so far as to describe it as a ‘perfect album’.
Following the introduction of Tom Foran on drums and Alex H. Studholme on bass, the band has spent recent years working tirelessly on their forward-thinking release “Endless Sea of Graves” which further developed the band’s sound, while retaining their signature uncompromising approach to old school death metal, having been described as both “a potent old school blend that doesn’t feel forced or contrived” (Noobheavy) as well as “pushing forward into new realms of mor- bidity” (Nattskog).
Alongside their adrenaline-pumping recorded assaults, the band have always remained an active band, displaying their surprisingly wide appeal by appearing at festivals as varied as Desertfest and UK Deathfest, and performing live with bands from across the metal spectrum including Cancer, Angel Witch, Onslaught, Avulsed, Grave Desecrator, Desecration, Insision, Dead Congrega- tion, Nunslaughter, General Surgery. Sodomizer, Entrails, nile, krisiun, Chapel of Disease and Hooded Menace.
