UNKIND -

Info

What is going to come to your mind if you hear Finland and OBSCENE EXTREME FEST? Doubtlessly something great from Finnish grind or punk.

However, this is not the case as for UNKIND currently. Band formed at the end of the last century was considered in connection with Finnish punk or crust for a long time. After splits with POLICE BASTARD or SAWN OFF a long range of great albums in a pure d-beast/crust style followed. With the last album UNKIND went on a rampage. A rough, dark, neurotic hardcore filth following in the footsteps of such legends as an older production of NEUROSIS, TRAGEDY or FROM ASHES RISE flavoured by jumps into crust passages.

There is nothing but getting ready for a total sonic storm.

Bio

"Unkind was formed in southern Finland around 1997 and has since been exploring and developing their take on crusty hardcore. Their sound started to take form during the first two LPs drawing influences from Amebix to Black Sabbath and by the third one it had settled to what the could call their own. The developement continued further on the 2010 Alerta Antifascista release 'Yhteiskunnan Pikkuvikoja' with the incorporation of electroacoustic elements, which with the steady delivery of the traditional crushing d-beat made for a more personal feel. In spite of a few unfortunate and problematic line-up changes the band managed to keep rolling and making new material through the years while keeping the whole thing from deteriorating practically of creatively. In late 2010 the band got contacted by Relapse records who had happened upon the latest album during that year and offered to put out the next one. The guys happily accepted and started immediately working on the recording of the spring 2011 release. Unkind has always been about expressing and venting the frustration and anxiety that the current state of the world creates. To share it with likeminded people around the world is the driving force that has kept the momentum strong through hardships and helped them spread the joy of pessimistic hardcore all around."
